Your cost effective solution for test support
of commuter aircraft and business jets to wide body aircraft.
The K838AT is the Semi-Automatic version of the K938, featuring the
same easy-to-use Avtron ATE++ graphical user interface. The K838AT comes
standard in 150, 350, and 500 HP ratings. Low HP rating is ideal for
corporate jets and commuter aircraft.
High HP ratings are used for wide body
aircraft. The K838AT is designed with space
constraints and simple installation in
mind. The small footprint of the K838AT integrates the hydraulic supply
and electronics on one platform. The K838AT utilizes the most modern
highly reliable control computer running the latest Windows™
operating system. Future upgrades are easy and economical. As in all
advanced Avtron test stands, the K838AT is network ready and features
easy connectivity via Commander™.
Commander utilizes the K838AT's integrated modem for direct, secure access with Avtron’s
technical support experts.

Model K938 Generator/CSD/IDG Test Stand.
-
K938 is using fully automatic, semi-automatic,
or manual operation.
-
K938 versions of 350 HP
or 500 HP are available.
-
K938 has ARINC 625-1
Compliant test programs.

|
The K938 is the favorite test equipment for the performance and overhaul testing of: |
- APUs Auxiliary Power Unit generators
- CSDs Constant Speed Drives
- Components for air- and oil-cooled generators
|
- DC Starter/Generators up to 200 KW.
- Generator systems (aircraft 400 Hz electrical up to 250 KVA )
- IDGs Integrated Drive Generators
|
All other such components used on large commercial and military jets
can be tested as well. As with all Avtron test equipment, the
K938 is an open system. This means the airline, OEM, or shop management
has complete knowledge and access to the hardware and software.
The state-of-the-art Model K938 is outstanding in its performance and the
competitive position it can provide its owners. Profits are increased by low installation
costs, less operator training, faster automatic testing, comprehensive, accurate data
acquisition and display for quick troubleshooting, and by modern components which cost
less and work better.
Don't sacrifice quality for a lower price. The K938 features the very best combination
of price/quality design selections available. Avtron's time proven designs and components
achieve a typical test stand life in excess of two decades. The K938 is available with
drive ratings of 200, 300, 350, or 500 horsepower standard (larger sizes also available.) |

The K838 is designed for performance and
overhaul testing of aircraft electrical generators and
starter/generators up to 75 KW. The K838 supports almost all business
jets, commuter aircraft, and helicopters in use today, and is ready for
future AC and Hi-V DC systems. The K838 is available with drive ratings
of 50, 100, and 150 horsepower, standard; other sizes can be provided.
Expected long-term savings are a result of the K838’s highly reliable
design, ease of use, and fast testing. Also because Avtron test systems
typically last over 20 years, your organization can save on less
frequent equipment replacement costs. As with all Avtron test equipment,
the K838 is an open system. This means the airline, OEM, or shop
management has complete knowledge and access to the hardware and
operating software. |

Upgrading to the K738XL configuration brings the following benefits
to K738 users:
- K738XL promotes testing efficiency and accuracy using fully automatic,
semi-automatic, and manual system control.
- K738XL extends the useful life of the K738 at a reasonable cost.
- K738XL eliminates obsolescence issues and insures long-term operation and
factory support by using an Industry Standard computer and software
platform.
- K738XL reduces overall support costs by using common system training and
a single spare parts pool.
- Compatible with existing adapter hardware saving new adapter
costs.
- Installation costs are minimal as K738XL utilizes a majority
of the existing interconnect wiring.

Avtron continuously strives to insure
that our test equipment users receive maximum value from their important
investment. The K738 Test Stand has proven to be a good value and
extremely reliable. To insure that current K738 users continue to
receive value from their Avtron test stand, Avtron
has developed an updated control and data acquisition system for all
K738 test stands: The K738XL (eXtended Life).
Rather than wait until our customers are inconvenienced with operating
problems due to component obsolescence, Avtron is taking a proactive
approach to solving this industry-wide situation.
The K738XL upgrade does not require changes to CSD adapters currently in
use. The K738 Test Stand’s control and data acquisition capability, a
function critical component of the test stand, is based on the Intel
8085 microprocessor. This technology was the early version of today’s
modern Pentium computers. The Intel 8085 computer is no longer
manufactured or supported by Intel or any other supplier. This means
that any older test systems based on this hardware must be upgraded or
faces discontinued use due to obsolescence. The areas of proven
performance on the K738 will be retained (i.e. heavy duty motor and
gearbox, heavy duty load bank, etc.) The areas affected by obsolescence
will be replaced with modern control and data acquisition systems.
Avtron proposes to replace the K738 Control console and various
system electronic control modules with a K938 style control console and
Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC's) respectively. This upgrade will
modernize the K738 to today's modern computer hardware and software
standards. This upgrade, combined with the robust K738 hardware, will
extend the useful life of the K738. Spare parts obsolescence will be a
thing of the past.
