Fuel Nozzle Test Stands. Fully Automatic, Semi-Automatic Angle
Devices, and Patternators. |
Constant
development concurrent with market and client requirements
has gained Avtron the reputation for having the best universal
fuel nozzle test stands in the world. From small commuter jet
engines to massive F119 fuel pumps for the most advanced
tactical military aircraft, we have been the preferred
provider of fuel nozzle test stands for over thirty years. As
an example of client confidence, Avtron fuel nozzle
test stands are exclusively used by the world's largest gas
turbine fuel system manufacturer, Parker Hannifin Corporation.
Test stands with fuel flows from 2 to 8000 pounds per hour, at
10 to 2000 PSIG, using MIL-C-7024, type II or jet fuels are
available as standard designs. Other features of our units
include:
- Independent Dual Fuel Flow
Circuits for Fuel Nozzles with Primary and Secondary Flow Requirements
- Fuel Temperature Control
to +/- 2°F
- Electronic Spray Angle Measurement
- Airflow Measurement Using
Sonic Orifices (Single or Dual Orifice Systems)
- Automatic Limit Checking
with Pass/Fail Display
- Automated Calibration Screens
- Easy, Prompt Entry of Test
Scripts with Archiving of up to 50 Tests Available to the Operator
- Test Data Printing and Networked
Data Logging
- MIL-T-83431 Specifications

Turbine Fuel Pressure Test Stand.
|
The scope of Avtron Turbine Fuel Test equipment
is extensive. Shown is a standard Turbine Fuel Pressure Test Stand using
Hydrostatic, Mil Spec Fluid and Nitrogen @ 500 PSIG. Applications include
any Turbine Fuel System component, nozzles, and system component parts
where the CMM requires Hydrostatic or Fuel under pressure test.
Other systems are available for flow testing to 50,000 Pounds @ 2000
PSIG using MIL-C-7024, Type II or Jet fuels, spray pattern testing and pressure
testing of all aerospace and industrial gas turbine fuel system
components. |

Turbine Fuel Precise Temperature and Pressure Control Components.
Testing Capability - 24/7 - 60 Month Duration.
 |
Avtron has
the experience with specialized military and commercial
qualification test systems. When Pratt & Whitney required a
qualification test rig for their F-119 engine oil to fuel heat exchanger,
Avtron engineered and manufactured a system to test both qualifications simultaneously.
The test required precise JP8 jet fuel temperature, pressure, and flow cycling
for ambient room temperature, at low flow and pressure, to over 300°F
@ 2200 PSI and 24,000 Pounds Per Hour. Lube flow ramped up to 11,000 Pounds Per Hour @ 350°F.
The test system was assembled on-site in a custom designed test room.
Avtron built a complete
computerized control system with safety systems and sensors within the
client's explosion proof facility, providing 24/7 unattended testing.

Fuel Control Test Stand |
Complex Jet Engine controls can be challenging.
Avtron has designed
and built test equipment for some of the most advanced requirements. The JFS 190 APU
fuel control for the Air Force F-15 fighter is the most complex and difficult to
test hydro-mechanical fuel control. Avtron designed and built two
fully automatic test stands incorporating automatic governor control ramps (to
11,000 RPM) with full computer graphic displays featuring limit envelopes.
Avtron's staff engineered and designed the test stand, built the units
in their facility, providing monitored, recorded testing as required
by the client's specifications. |

Sonic Airflow and Orifice Test Equipment featuring analog, digital, or fully
computerized consoles. |
High accuracy airflow measurement is a specialized skill required for testing
any aerospace and industrial gas turbine fuel system component.
Avtron literally "wrote the book" on sonic orifice airflow
testing. Several standard models are available for single component testing,
general purpose airflow measurement, or airflow meter calibration using primary
standard sonic orifices. Avtron offers ranges from 0.04 SCFM to over 400 SCFM
with pressures to 1500 PSIA. |

Lube and Scavenge Pump Test Equipment (left) and Lube and Scavenge
Test Stand Control (right). |
Avtron designs and builds gas turbine lube and scavenge pump test
equipment for any size engine, including the Rolls-Royce Trent System.
Computerized test equipment with automatic data logging or fully manual test
systems are available. |
