FLAT PRODUCTS COLD FINISHING
Avtron Cold Finishing Control Systems provide the performance and reliability required for Finishing Line Applications. Avtron's family of drive systems products can be easily configured to apply in any combination of the finishing lines in your mill.
Avtron has hundreds of successful installations in a multitude of different line configurations in Flat Products Finishing Applications. Our engineered diagnostic and drive system solutions can improve the reliability and control system performance of your finishing lines. We ar specialists in cost-effective and easy to install system upgrades. We have experience with Strand and Tension Leveling Lines, Continuous Galvanizing and Annealing Lines, Electro-Tin Lines, Paint Lines, and all types of strip converting applications.
The Performance View Process Diagnostic System can also help maximize the uptime in Cold Finishing Lines. This system automatically records status bits, drive values, and PLC data from the controllers to aid in easily and quickly identifying and repairing problems. The data is easily searched and manipulated through the Avtron P.V. Viewer software to allow drive and PLC controls to be repaired if a problem is identified. It can also be used for establishing 'normal running conditions' for a Predictive or Preventive Maintenance Program. |

Avtron provides control system upgrades
for both Strand and Tension Leveling Lines. We have applied our
ADDvantage-32
(TM)
Family of AC and DC Drive Projects in many new and retrofit applications
for Leveling.
Our system
expertise in Leveling Applications has led us to develop standard
control solutions for these applications. Our drives have
enough intelligence to allow the Tension Leveling Control to be
performed directly in the drive. This means our customers can upgrade
their systems with no auxiliary control or sensing hardware required.

efficiency is continuously maintained and to provide advanced system
troubleshooting tools to maximize uptime. |

Coating

Avtron has applied our drive system expertise to various types of
Coating Lines. We have experience with Electro-Galvanizing Lines,
Electro-Tinning Lines, Paint Lines, Continuous Annealing Lines and
combination Anneal/Pickle Lines. We offer both AC and DC solutions for
these applications.
Our family of advanced, digital drives
has many standard control features built into the hardware and software
of the drive. We can coordinate the speed references directly from drive
to drive. Our drive includes advanced coiler tension control features
and position/tension trim for non-coiler sections. This means our drives
can be installed onto an existing line without a complex Master
Controller or PLC.
Our Performance View
(TM)
Process Diagnostic System continuously and automatically gathers
critical electrical and process data from the machine. This allows the
optimization of the machine and facilitates fast troubleshooting and
repair when production problems occur.

Slitting Lines |

Avtron has done numerous Slitting Line
Upgrade projects both AC and DC Drives.
These drives have a perfect feature set for Slitting Line Control
Systems that allow unprecedented control of the final coil
characteristics.
Our Coiler
software includes three Diameter Calculation methods, Diameter-based
Variable Inertia Compensation, Fixed Tare and Speed-based Variable
Tare. These features allow the upgrade to be done with a minimum of
hardware because all of the critical control functions are built into
the drive. They also allow the coil density to be
optimized so the mill's customers have fewer problems running the coil
at their site. Our

Process Diagnostic System allows our customers to operate the slitter at
peak performance and to document the quality performance of the line. |

Cut-to-Length Lines |

Avtron has applied our AC and DC drive systems on Cut-to-Length
applications. Our standard family of drive hardware and software is
ideally suited to projects in the Mill Finishing Area.
The standard AC and DC drive has many
built-in features that make these lines run smoothly.
The drive can perform the complex Uncoiler functions including
diameter compensation, peelers, pinch rolls and flatteners.
The rotary shear function can be performed in the
standard drive as well as the side trimming, in-line leveling and scrap
chopping functions.
The drives can perform these complex
functions in the regulator without the need for an expensive,
hard-to-maintain Master Controller or complex custom PLC programs. The
PLC usually supplied with these systems can be simple, have less
hardware and do only the logic and reference functions.
In addition, our Performance View
(TM) Process
Diagnostic System can be used to automatically and continuously gather
and store critical process data on the line. This data can be used to
quickly troubleshoot and repair problems on the line and to establish
“benchmarks” to facilitate Predictive Maintenance. |
